First Time Carvers

Hubby and I had never ever carved a pumpkin. That wasn't something we grew up with. But I love doing things like this with my boys. So the day after we went to the pumpkin patch we had a pumpkin carving party. We, and when I saw we, I mean HE carved our pumpkin. Little man had a blast watching it. lol It's great to make fun memories like this! I have so many great memories with my parents, so I want my kids to have the same.

Here's hubby getting into the pumpkin
Yes, my tough man had to wear gloves to take the guts out. lol
BOOOOO!

For the boys pumpkins, we just glued the eyes, nose and mouth. Little man had SO much fun and was so proud of his pumpkin!
Voila! It was a great project to do as a family and we had a BLAST!

Monday Madness! Pepper Doodle

Being on a tight budget can sometimes make it impossible to do "extra" things. I needed a Halloween costume for little man because he has a fall festival party at school. I really wanted him to be Woody from Toy Story. The Woody costumes I found at the stores were not only hideous but also very expensive. I wanted something that he could wear again. Woody's outfit is easy - jeans and a shirt. BUT the vest and hat are the hard part. Well, I found the PERFECT one on etsy - Pepper Doodle makes a great Woody costume and it's very cost effective. I fell in love with it! I was super excited when I got it in the mail. Little man will love dressing up as Woody this year. :) Pepper Doodle also has some other great One of a Kind items - check her out here.

Watermelon Ruffle Fluff swing set - $30

kid's Red pea coat with zebra satin lining - $55

Holiday fancy bubble hem dress - $45

Birthday Party Needs

Last week we celebrated little man's birthday. We made his day extra special and got lots of cute things from etsy.

We took cupcakes to his class the Friday before his birthday. He even wore a shirt to celebrate. I got this super cute shirt and a matching shirt for baby boy at TheSewCuteBoutique. Check her out here.

What party wouldn't be complete without balloons from a local party store and a super cute, personalized banner from DesignerFavors. Check out her store here.

I kept things very simple but the banner and shirt made the day even more special! :)

Birthday Boy

Last week we celebrated my little boy's 4th birthday! I didn't have a party but we had family over. Of course we had to have a cake. He is really into Toy Story now, so that's the theme I picked. My amazing and talented friend made this yummy cake for me. What do you think? It was SOOOO good. That fence line was made out of chocolate - obviously that was my favorite part. lol

Project Idea - Framed Fingers

Isn't this cute? I took cardstock paper and cut it into a 5x7. I then printed the words "Mommy's Blessings" on top and the boys names on te bottom. Then I took paint and did both my boys handprints on there and framed it. I also made one that said Grandma's Blessings for my mother in law's birthday and she LOVED it. :) I think this is a cute idea for a present or just to decorate your house. I love anything that I can make and that involves my boys. My oldest son aways looks at it and very proudly shows me his hand print. :) He loves that I have that on display. This idea will always be perfect at Christmas time - grandparents love getting stuff like this. You can use red and green paint. :) Let me know if you do this. I'd love to hear from you.

Tuesday 3Ts - Talk

This Tuesday I am going to have a guest blogger. My twin sister has this cute shop on etsy called Bowquet - this is what she had to say about her store.

Bowquet:
2 1/2 years ago, when I found out I was pregnant with a girl, I knew she'd be a girly girl and would need lots of bows. I didn't like much of what I saw out there and I couldn't really afford to buy ALL of the ones I liked. I also knew that I would become a stay at home mom once she was born, so I wanted to do something crafty... So I started making my own bows. I started slow and within a few months had all these plans for an etsy shop. My sister and I set out to come up with names and hairbow ideas...

BOWquet was "born" in February of 2009. Starting on etsy was amazing. I love having my own "shop" online. I like that it targets people all over the world. It was a slow start though, a few sales here and there. These past 6 months or so have been the busiest, but mainly the past 2 months have brought the most business. I have had more sales these past 2-3 months, then ever on etsy. I work hard to put my name "out there" on the etsy forums, twitter, blogging... So I guess it's working. :) Plus, I make sure I'm stocked with tons of cute bows!

I love making hairbows. I love coming up with new ideas and seeing it come to "life". My idea of a relaxing evening it sitting on the couch surrounded by ribbons and my hot glue gun. :) I have a slight obsession with ribbons. I can't walk out of any craft store empty handed. If I see a ribbon, I immediately come up with ideas and I just have to buy it.

Here are some samples of her bows. For more, check out her store here or her blog. You can also "like" her on facebook here.

Monday Madness! Sew Spoiled

As you may have noticed, I LOVE anything embroidered for the kids to wear. Since I cannot sew - not even a button, I look on etsy for all my needs. lol I like for baby boy to wear shortalls and longalls. Being the winter is just around the corner, I have been wanting to get him some longalls. I found Sew Spoiled and fell in love with the store. They have the cutest items for girls and boys. They even let me choose the fabric I wanted for the longalls. Then had baby boy's initials embroidered on it. It looks GREAT! And now the weather is getting cool enough that he can finally wear it. :) Go to Sew Spoiled and check it out. They also have the greatest holiday items!!!
