A New Year...

I decided that I will not make any resolutions. Mainly because I never stick to it... I do however want 2013 to bring some changes for me. 2012 was a good year. Nothing big or exciting happened. We had birthdays, anniversaries, Disney trips, and so much more!

My goal for 2013 is to get healthier. I also want to take more time to actually spend enjoying my boys and husband. I also need to take the time to take care of me...

2013 will mark hubby and mine's 10 year wedding anniversary. That's nuts!!! We plan on taking time this year to have many family outings and just send time together!

How about you? What are your plans for 2013?

Merry Christmas!

Wishing you and your family a very blessed Christmas season. May you have a great day and take the time to enjoy every minute with your family.

As crazy and stressful as things can get that day with us having to drive all over the place, my goal for the day is to enjoy my husband and sons and soak in the day! I can't wait to see their sweet, smiling faces as they see their surprises from Santa and mommy and daddy!

another craft project

Little man wanted to take a treat to his classmates. I really wanted to do something creative with candy canes. I looked online and all I found were reindeers. But I really wanted something different. And that is when I came up with angels.

I got the candy canes at Wal Mart. And then at the dollar store I got a huge bag of white rose petals for the wings, and sparkly pipe cleaners for the halo. I used gold or silver for the halo.

I hot glued the rose petals together to make them look like wings, and then put a dot of glue on the candy cane to glue the wings on there.  I then cut the pipe cleaners in half, and folded them up to look like a halo. I twisted it around the top of the candy cane.

The end result - an angel candy cane!
These were also a big hit!

Snowman shirts

I have been getting kind of crafty these days.....  My amazing sister who owns BOWQUET is much more craftier than me so I called her and asked her to help me. She is so sweet and came over one night to help me make the snowman shirts I needed for the boys. It was an adventure to say the least!

I bought 2 long sleeve shirts at Wal Mart, along with black and orange felt and iron on paper
We cut the felt and iron on paper in the shapes we needed...  Ironed them on. The thing to remember, that we learned the hard way is that the iron has to be hot but no steam.  AND we need to cover the felt with a towel because if the iron comes into direct contact with the felt, the felt will melt and get stuck on the iron. Which will lead to the amazing sister turning as white as a ghost and panicking because she thought she had ruined my hubby's special iron. lol  It was too funny!

Anyway, after the crisis was averted, the end result was this super cute snowman shirt for my boys!  They wore it to the church's pajama party with their snowman pants and got tons of compliments! :)

I just love all her ornaments and beautiful artwork.

She also has some of her awesome hand painted "wooden crosses" as well as beautiful "welcome signs" and "inspirational plaques" and "birdhouses" too. So shop around and don't forget to bookmark her page because she adds new artwork all the time.

Table Top!

I was looking for a neat idea for my dining room centerpiece and finally came up with this.  On my buffet I have "snow" and then our village on top of it. So I wanted to do a winter wonderland theme. :)  I have this tall hurricane vase and wanted to use it. So then it came to me!  I got pinecones for free and went to Hobby Lobby where they had 50% off Christmas decorations and I got these little red berries. :)  I just love how it turned out!  What do you think?

What are your Christmas decorations like?
