My Boys

I just love my boys and love spending time with them. My husband is an amazing man. He is such a wonderful father to our son. We always make a point to have family dates. And they always have so much fun together. The other day they were wrestling and tickling each other on the couch and then my hubby fell on the floor and got hurt, well, he just started laughing and kept on with his tickle fight. It was too cute!
I am so thankful that both my sons get to grow up with such an involved daddy - my hubby has always dreamed of being a dad and he always wanted sons - so now he gets 2. :) It's great seeing a man being such a good dad!

Thursday Rituals

With the economic times being so difficult these days, we are trying very hard to cut back and save every penney.
We cut back on our home phone, no more called ID, no long distance, no call waiting - just a plain phone. We also cut back on cable. We cut back on our internet. AND we cut our minutes and luxuries on our cell phone. We don't go out as often...
Now every Thursday I have the same ritual. I look through the new weekly BOGO sales in my grocery store, make my grocery list and then go to town searching for coupons online.
My favorite website is coupons.com and Fiddledeedee. I love those 2 because they are so helpful and are very user friendly.
Last week after they totaled up my grocery bill, I proudly handed the cashier my stack of coupons and saved $10 just in coupons. I was sooo excited.
There are a ton of other websites that can be very helpful out there. What do you use for coupon clipping? How are you saving money?

Monday Madness!!! The Dixie Pixie

This week's Monday Madness is a SUPER cute store called The Dixie Pixie. She makes the most amazing girl outfits. I fell in love with all her dresses. BUT the white eyelet dress caught my eye. I ordered it with the same pink monnogram and ribbons as the picture on her store. She was so nice and friendly. When I got the package in the mail, I super stoked to open it. She wrapped it up in tissue paper and made it look like a candy - each side of the tissue paper was tied off with pink ribbon. It was so cute. The dress was done and got here super fast. I was extremely impressed with the high quality of her work. I highly recommend anyone with a little girl, to check out The Dixie Pixie.

Orange and White Addison Dress for Baby/Toddler Girls - $28.00

Oh baby baby!

Well, things around here are slowly progressing on getting ready for our baby boy. The room that used to be the office that will now be the nursery is slowly getting emptied out. ARG! It's so frustrating because there is so much that needs to be done and I have to take things slow. Because of a fall a few weeks ago, my doctor told me to take it easy and not do much cleaning. BUT I can't depend on the hubby who is at work all day to come home and have to do my chores, ya know? It's not fair. He doesn't mind, but I hate doing that to him.
So, as we prepare for baby boy to get here, I've been on etsy a LOT, admiring and drooling over certain items that I want. What do you see on Etsy that is a MUST have for baby boy? (look through the stores I have listed on here and tell me what your favorite is!!!!)

Family Time!

Last week we went to a car show they had here. My hubby goes every year and this year we figured we could go as a family. Our little boy had SOOOO much fun. He just loves cars. When we first got there, he ran straight to the Shelby Mustang - that is my husband's dream car. But our boy liked it too. In fact, he liked all the sports cars and all the expensive cars. lol I told him not to get any ideas. lol. He loved sitting in the cars and trying them out. It was great seeing father and son share a common interest. They had so much fun together. I just hung back and took pictures like a paparazzi. We finally ended up in the section that was my favorite - the Porsches. The Porsche Cayenne is my favorite car! But they also have a 4 door sports car too - it can totally fit 2 carseats in the back! The hubby didn't go for it. We just love finding things to do with each other and we love to spend time together. Sometimes it's hard to find cheap, or free places to go to, but we manage! How about you? What do you do for family fun?

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!! What are you guys doing this weekend for Valentine's Day?
Due to the fact that we are on a tight budget, we are not doing much. The hubby and I will just hang out around the house and maybe watch a movie after little man goes to bed. Being that Valentine's Day is on a Sunday, and we are at church, I am making some treats. I teach 3 year olds, so I want to make heart shaped rice krispies treats for them. AND I am making some for my son's class as well. I got him some cute cards to hand out from 2kute kards. Check out her store. I wanted something that wasn't girly and she made some cute blue ones with monkeys. I got some heart shaped lollipops and tied a ribbon around it. Don't you love it? 2kute makes the cutest cards! I am always impressed with her work.

Big Brother

As many of you may know I am pregnant with my second son. We are very excited to be planning his arrival. My eldest son is 3 years old and so excited to meet "baby in mommy's tummy". It's so sweet to see him talk about his brother. And he loves to kiss the baby in my tummy. It's the cutest thing. It makes me so happy to see how he is with the baby.
We had a doctor's appointment this week and when the doctor walked in, my son lifted up my shirt and kept showing the doctor his baby. It was adorable. And my doctor is so good with kids - he kept asking my little boy questions about his brother and teaching him about the heartbeat. It was sweet! I can't wait to see how he is going to be when the baby comes. I think he will be very helpful! :)

The Cleaning Lady

I know I am not the only one that agrees that living in a clean house is way better than living in a messy and dirty house. Right?
Being that I am pregnant, my energy level is way low, but I am trying to keep up with my chores. Most of the times I am only able to keep the front of the house clean - the living room, family room, dining room and kitchen. I've been doing really well at keeping up with the dishes and such. BUT my bedroom has been a complete mess. So yesterday I took the day to do something about it. And I felt so good after I was done! I cleaned, dusted, put stuff away. AND I even caught up with laundry, well, you're never really caught up with laundry, but I am doing pretty good.
It felt so good to go to sleep in a clean room. I was so proud of myself. And I say this everytime, but I am really going to try to keep up with it and keep it clean. I hate messes!
My least favorite chore is doing dishes (eventhough the dishwasher does all the work) and doing laundry. I hate putting laundry away. But I am so thankful that I have my own laundry room and my own machines that I can do laundry in! How about you, what is your least favorite chore???

Help Lilly

I found this new friend through Etsy and ended up in her blog last week. And I found out she is raising money to help a friend's little 3 year old daughter Lilly. Isn't she the cutest little girl? Well, Lilly needs our help! I was touched by her story. Lilly is sick with Arnold-Chiari malformation. This malformation is a structural defect in the part of the brain that controls balance, the cerebellum. It causes a portion of the brain to protrude out of the skull and down into the spinal canal. When this happens, the brain tissue blocks the flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) to and from the brain. CSF is important because it surrounds and cushions the brain and provides nourishment to the brain. Please read more of Lilly's story here. You can participate in a raffle they are having to raise money to help her medical expenses. OR you can DONATE money towards it too. I know times are hard, but if everyone donated $1, or $5 or even $10, it would make a difference. Here is the link to the blog with all the information. Please take the time to check it out and I totally appreciate it! :)
