Cooking...

I've been trying to cook healthier lately. Not only because it's better for us, but also because hubby and I need to lose some weight. Also, when I bake, I make extra for my mom and for health reasons, she too needs to lose weight and eat healthier.

SO, being a lover of sweets can be hard when trying to eat healthy. I was introduced to this website skinnytaste.com. OHMYGOSH! I've tried a few of her recipes and I found a scone recipe that I LOVE! I made me a batch and my mom a batch. It was so much fun to make and so yummy to eat!

My hardest critic, my one and a half year old also loved it. lol

Monday Madness! Lululilyonline

You guys know how much I love to match the boys. And hubby gets a little aggravated with it. But to be honest, little man (my 5 yr old) loves it! He actually gets sad when he and his brother don't have the same clothes on. Soooo I got them some nice polo shirts with their initials monogrammed on it. I LOVE IT! I got them a light blue shirt with navy initials. It's very "springy". Lululily has the cutest items. From shirts, to bags, to onesies and more! And it is very well made!

I was very impressed with the customer service I received from Lululily too. They are very sweet and friendly.

The boys haven't had a chance to wear their shirts yet but will soon and I can't wait!!!!

Getting Ready for Easter...

I decorated the house for Easter and the boys LOVE it! Little man saw it and thanked me for decorating. It was so sweet. Made is totlaly worth it!

I love having the house decorated for the Holidays. I didn't do much but I like how it turned out.

This is the buffet in my dining room. I bought a iron cross and added a calilly to it. I found these cute ceramic eggs for my crystal bowl. Isn't it cute?
I have daisies on my dining room table.

And then I got some of these eggs and chicks to put in the kitchen.

making time...

Last Friday I was so exhausted...
I was just working so hard, cleaning, doing laundry, and just going and going and going...

Hubby had to work that night and that left me home with the kids. I felt bad just sitting at home doing nothing, so I decided to pack up the kids and take them to the mall. The mall you say? lol Yep. They have a choo choo train there that the boys are crazy over!
My mother in law met me there and we all piled in a train car and rode around the mall. Then I treated the boys to their favorite dinner and I made a quick shopping trip to try on some dresses. Little man loves picking out dresses for me which is very cute. lol

All in all, I was happy with the fact that I took the time, took a break and had a date with my precious boys. Note to self, do that more often! lol

9 years and counting...

9 years ago I walked down the aisle and married my soul mate and best friend. It was one of the best days of my life! 9 years has sure gone by so fast. And we have accomplished so much together! From our first tiny 1 bedroom apartment, our first car, our first house, job changes, vacations, and the best parts of our marriage- our sweet boys!

Life sure hasn't been easy, but we have enjoyed every minute of it. And what doesn't kills us, makes us stronger! lol

In all seriousness, I sure do love my hubby and am so grateful for him. He is my best friend, my confidant, my lover and my soul mate...

Happy Anniversary! Can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together!

Crafts

My sister gave me this cute craft idea to do with the kids for Easter. We had so much fun!

All it is is an oval picture and then glue buttons on it. They came out super cute and I framed them in the family room.

This is baby boy's Easter egg craft. He did a pretty good job!
And this is little man's Easter egg craft. He was very proud to see his artwork in a frame!

Monday Madness! Light and Sweet

For Christmas I got hubby a Batman t-shirt. His favorite super hero is Batman so when I found a t-shirt that fit him (he is big and tall) I was stoked! Well, after he got his shirt, he asked me to find the boys a Batman shirt as well. This was a task! I found them at Old Navy about a month or so ago. Hubby was so excited! So then I realized I needed my own Batman shirt, but I wanted a girly, pink one. Where did I look for it? Etsy of course! :)
I found the perfect pink Batman shirt at Light and Sweet and I was so excited when I got it! We are actually going to try to get some pictures done with all of us wearing our Batman shirts.

Light and Sweet has awesome items, such as drawstring totes, aprons, other t-shirts for kids and adults, and so much more!!! Check out Light and Sweet here and look at all her amazing items!

Chip and Dale

No, this post is not about strippers. lol

Hubby recently bought some DVDs of the Chip and Dale series, remember those? Hubby and I grew up watching it and now our kids are watching it. I was so surprised at how much little man LOVES Chip and Dale.

In this day and age with all these new cartoons coming out, some of them are horrible, I am glad to see the my kids enjoy wholesome cartoons. I am extremely picky about what they watch. For example, my 30+ year old husband DVRs the Star Wars cartoon and watches it. I don't let Little Man watch it. I think that cartoon is extremely violent for a 5 year old to watch.
I know eventually he will watch these, but for now, I like to shelter him a bit.

Whatever happened to the Flinstones, The Jetsons, Top Cat... I miss those.

Hubby also got Tale Spin, but little man didn't like it. lol

What is your favorite old cartoon?
