planning...

This weekend is baby boy's 2nd birthday. I just can't believe it. Where does the time go?
It sure went by faster with him than little man...

Well, I decided not to have a big party. I just don't think it's worth the headache and time. Our family is getting so big as it is, so I am just doing something with them. Everyone is coming over the house on Saturday for pizza and cake. Well, actually I am making cupcakes. Baby boy LOVES cupcakes. lol

I am also still doing some decorations and balloons. It wouldn't be a birthday without those things. There are 4 kids in the family and they all enjoy birthday hats and balloons. Who doesn't?

As I said before, I am doing my own cupcakes this year and need tips on how to do the frosting...  Any easy way to make it look nice?  What do you guys suggest?

Monday Madness! jvanmeter

It's that time of the year... When school comes to an end and we have to think of neat teacher's gifts! I wanted to get the principal of the school a cute gift because she is just amazing! My little man loves her and I wanted him to give her a nice gift. So I went on etsy for a good idea and found personalized tiles. I have one and love it! So I figured it'd be the perfect gift. She could put it either in her office or take it home. And it's something she will cherish for a long time.

I found the tile at jvanmeter on etsy. I was so impressed when I got it in the mail. It is beautiful and so elegant. When little man gave it to the principal, she opened it in front of us and loved it. She was really excited about it and immediately put it on display in her office. Little man was so excited about how much she liked his gift.

jvanmeter also has some other super cool items. She has personalized wedding plates, tumblers, and so much more! I know that I want to come here for a wedding gift next time I have a wedding to attend!  Check out jvanmeter and look at all her great gift ideas!

Here are some of her super cute items:

Girl's Night

I mentioned last weekend we went out of town to see our cousins...

Well, on Sunday night, the husbands sent the wives out for a night out. We chose to see a movie, I have not been to the theater since the kids were born. To be honest I don't really like going. I think it's a waste of money and I don't enjoy it. I like to be in my PJs and lounging around on the couch with my feet up to enjoy the movie. lol

But I figured being out with the girls would be fun. We left the house at 9, after bathing the kids and getting them ready for bed. lol  And off we went.  We watched "What to Expect When You're Expecting". I didn't want to see it but the other 2 ladies did.  Well, guess what?  The movie was surprisingly great! I enjoyed it. It was hilarious, sweet and even made me cry in some parts.

I am already an emotional person and cry at everything, but when it comes to movies about pregnancies and motherhood, that pushes me over the edge. I LOVE being a mom and loved being pregnant. There are some beautiful and touching moments in the movie. There were 2 parts that got to me. I won't say exactly what so I don't ruin the movie for you, but one of the scenes, one of the new moms endured a hard pregnancy and delivery and when she was holding her baby she said she finally found her glow and said her baby was her glow. You have to see the movie to understand how beautiful that is.

The other scene was when the couple that was trying to adopt was handed their precious baby. OMGSH! I bawled in that scene. I never knew adoption could be so beautiful and they depicted it so well in the movie. It was such a sweet scene.

Anyway, I totally want to watch it again but I will wait til it comes out on DVD. ;)

Monday Madness! Kreations by Anna

Can you believe the end of the school year is upon us? Then it dawned on me that I needed to do something nice for little man's teachers' gifts. The best place to find super cute, affordable items is Etsy of course! I found the most adorable personalized beach towels at Kreations by Anna. She has the cutest personalized items there and on her facebook page.  Check it out!

I got a lime green towel and a hot pink towel for the teachers and they are both gorgeous. I was impressed with the quality of her work and how fast I got it in the mail. The towels are super pretty and I plan on getting a tote bag and monogrammed tumbler for them to go with the towels. I figured I'd do a "summery" theme. Cute huh?

How about you?  What are you doing for the teachers in your life?  Check out Kreations by Anna's here!

This past weekend we went out of town to spend time with our awesome cousins. They are my husband's cousin. It was us, the two cousins and their wives with their 3 sons. So we had 6 adults and 5 kids (all boys under the age of 5) in one big ol' house. It was SOOOO much fun! The kids are ages 1 is 5, 1 is 2, 1 is almost 2 in June and the twins will be 2 in the fall. Crazy huh?

The first day it was just 4 adults and 3 kids and the hubby's took the boys to the playground. They had a blast! They came back inside very dirty and sweaty! We all try to meet up at least once or twice a year to enjoy each other. I love how well we adults and the kids get along. They are so much fun!

I enjoyed watching baby boy interact with all the little ones. He loved having kids his size to play with! And it's like they know they are related because they just love each other so much. It was great!

I really enjoyed the little R & R we got. We ate a lot of yummy food and just relaxed together!
